What is CBD?
Cannabidiol or CBD for short is one of over one-hundred active compounds called phytocannnabinods found in the hemp plant.
What are the benefits of taking CBD?
Many people integrate hemp into their health routine to support their cellular and molecular health.* Hemp extract, is just one of over 80+ cannabinoids that can be extracted from hemp. In fact, scientists found that these plant compounds have a better effect on the body when they work together, rather than alone. This means that hemp and all those other great compounds can support the body more fully than just hemp. And how, exactly, do they provide support to the body? Among the many benefits that our users experience, some of the main ones are: a sense of calm for focus; relief from everyday stresses; help in recovery from exercise-induced inflammation; and support for healthy sleep cycles*. THRYV is a full-spectrum cannabinoid extract with hemp extract and other cannabinoids and beneficial plant compounds like terpenes and flavonoids. Since research shows that using the whole plant maximizes benefits delivered throughout the body and supplies additional wellness components, we make sure to give you as much of Mother Nature’s goodness as we can.
What does it feel like to take Cannabidiol (CBD)?
The most accurate answer to that question is - it depends. Meaning, it depends on what your body needs. Each body is different, so everybody will have a different response. Since hemp extract with cannabinoids works with the body’s internal Endocannabinoid System to maintain good health, the effect is personalized based on what you have going on internally. That being said, quite a few people mention a feeling of relaxation, while others note that hemp extract helps them feel focused.* The best way to find out how hemp will work for you, is to try it for yourself!
What's the Endocannabinoid System or ECS?
The human body has a vast network of receptors, called the Endocannabinoid System. The purpose of this system is to help our body stay balanced and in good overall health, even when external factors and certain lifestyle choices diminish our wellbeing. Hemp and other cannabinoids fit into the receptors of the Endocannabinoid System, helping the body complete its efforts to keep us in good health by supporting many of the body’s physical processes.
Is CBD Psychoactive?
CBD meets the World Health Organization (WHO) definition of being psychoactive. The WHO defines psychoactive substances as substances “that, when taken in or administered into one’s system, affect mental processes, e.g. cognition or effect.”
However, while this may be the case for CBD, it must be noted that CBD is non-intoxicating in its effects. It does not produce feelings of euphoria, stupor, or loss of control; effects commonly associated with THC ingestion. Research suggests that this is due to the fact that CBD does not bind to the CB1 receptor in the same way that THC does. In fact, CBD has been shown in some studies to modulate or reduce the intoxicating effects of THC.
What's the Entourage Effect?
The Entourage Effect is a phrase coined in 1998 by two Israeli scientists to describe their findings that taking the entire spectrum of natural chemicals found in cannabis is more beneficial than only taking a single molecule compound.
THRYV full-spectrum products are made with whole-plant extracts which include a variety of phytochemicals. These beneficial compounds include a range of phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids.
What's the difference between cannabis & hemp?
Hemp is a cultivar of cannabis which has less than 0.3% THC. All hemp is considered cannabis, but not all cannabis is considered hemp.
Will I test positive on a drug test if I use THRYV?
Much like the consumption of poppy seeds may lead to a positive drug test for opioids, the consumption of certain hemp products may lead to a positive drug test for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is inherently present in trace amounts in hemp plants. The legal limit of THC in hemp is no more than 0.3%. Furthermore, the underlying science behind the conversion of certain cannabinoids, for example hemp extract (Hemp), when consumed, to other related cannabinoids, for example THC, is not yet fully understood. Although the risk is low, individual biochemistry, the possibility of conversion of cannabinoids and the possibility of trace, but legal, amounts of THC inherent in hemp products, we strongly suggest consulting your health care provider before consuming any hemp products if you are subject to drug testing.
THRYV holds no liability for any positive results on a drug test. We highly recommend not using CBD products if this is a concern to you.
Can I order THRYV in all 50 states?
THRYV and other popular CBD brands currently make products available in all 50 states. With the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill, regulations regarding hemp-derived ingestible cannabinoid products will continue to be updated, so we strongly recommend that you check with your local administration to ensure you are comfortable with the level of legality of consuming hemp CBD products before you buy them.
Are there any possible drug interactions with CBD?
CBD can have an interaction with certain drugs in a manner that is similar to grapefruit. Research has shown that certain compounds in grapefruit can interact with many common pharmaceutical drugs by inhibiting cytochrome P450 enzymes, a family of liver enzymes that metabolizes these drugs. However, CBD can also inhibit these enzymes when consumed at high enough dosages.
We always recommend checking with your physician before starting a new dietary supplement program. Any instructions you may have received from a medical professional regarding grapefruit should be treated with the same level of care when it comes to CBD products.

When it comes to CBD or any other substance it's always important to find the best dose for ourselves through some trial and error. However, through our experience using CBD we have some recommendations for you to get started and we've tried to make it easy for you with the way we've formulated THRYV CBD products.
Unless you are in dire need of relief from an ailing condition we recommend starting small with a half a dropper full and working your way up if necessary.
We've formulated our 1000 mg tinctures so that three-quarters of a milliliter (mL) or about one dropper is the equivalent of 25 mg of CBD. This is a nice dose for most general-purpose use. There are conveniently placed markings on each dropper to help aid with accurately measuring dosage.
Our THRYV CBD Capsules are also formulated to be 25 mg per dose to keep things consistent. We've found this to be a sufficient dose in most cases and recommend taking THRYV CBD products two to three times daily as needed for best results.
The CBD in our tinctures is best absorbed into the body by taking them sublingually. This means when you take THRYV CBD tinctures you'll want to follow the instructions on the bottle and use the dropper to place the tincture under the tongue and hold for as long as you can to allow for the best absorption. Try to hold in place for at least thirty to sixty seconds.
This practice allows for better bioavailability and means that more Cannabidiol (CBD) will get into your body and be able to act on your Endocannabinoid System than if you were to just swallow the tincture without letting it sit.
When we take tincture orally it has to go through the first pass filtration system or our bodies and much is lost during the process. However, if we take tincture sublingually it gets to sneak by and get directly into our system. This creates a more potent effect and is more efficient for the user.
If you need something stronger for more intense situations you can always increase the dose to two or three droppers per serving and are safely able to take it numerous times per day. The risk of fatigue may increase in larger doses as well as other side effects relating to cognition but nothing threatening.
We also offer our 2000 mg strength tinctures to make dosing higher potencies easier and more efficient for those who require it. These tinctures are formulated to possess 50 mg per serving and are strong enough to help those who have found that higher doses work best for them.
Dog Treat Dosing
Dogs have more Endocannabinoid receptors in their bodies than humans do and tend to be smaller biomass. This means their recommended dosage is less. In most circumstances we've seen that approximately 1 mg for every 10 lbs of weight is a conservative recommendation. THRYV dog treats are 4mg each and can be easily split into two to help find the right dose for your dog.
Less is always more when it comes to children. We recommend consulting with a physician and starting with a very small dose when it comes to kids. Keep their age and size in mind when considering dosing. If they're a third of the size of an adult human they need less than a third of the dose to be effective.
As we just mentioned, the size of a person can impact the effectiveness of a dose. General health and metabolism can also be important factors to consider. Larger people tend to require higher doses to be effective, smaller humans can get by with less.
CBD works on the C-450 receptors in our bodies which are the same receptors as many other drugs. This means that CBD could make other medications more or less effective depending on the manner in which they work.
Generally, CBD is very safe and has minimal impact on other drugs but it's important to keep in mind you may need to adjust accordingly.
CBD may affect humans and cause drug interactions very similar to the way grapefruit can. Please be sure to follow any such warnings from your physician.
